HAMPDEN, Maine — A man died after the pickup truck he was driving crashed into a home in Hampden on Monday morning.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. on Coldbrook Road, Hampden public safety director Christian Bailey told NEWS CENTER Maine.

The vehicle was traveling east when it went off the road, into a field, and crashed into the home, Bailey said. Officials are continuing to investigate what caused the vehicle to swerve off the road.

Fire departments from Hampden and Hermon responded to the scene, along with the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office. Bailey said the sheriff's office would be reconstructing the crash, which remains under investigation.
