Crash in Bangor knocks out power for roughly 1,600 Mainers

Crews are working to restore power to Mainers in Greater Bangor because of a motor vehicle crash Monday afternoon.

BANGOR, Maine — Crews in Bangor are working to restore power to more than 1,500 Mainers after a crash knocked out power Monday afternoon. 

Versant Power posted on X, formerly Twitter, crews are working to restore power to 1,600 customers in the Bangor area due to a motor vehicle crash. 

Drivers are urged to slow down and move over for crews working to crews working in roadways. 

Bangor Police Department Lt. Wade Betters told NEWS CENTER Maine a call came in at approximately 4:17 p.m. after vehicle reportedly struck a utility pole on Maine Avenue near Hayes Street and knocked out power.
