BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --- The man charged with killing a 5-month-old baby in Bangor two months ago went back before a judge on Tuesday.

Samuel Moore pleaded not guilty to the charge of murder inside Penobscot County Superior Court. State investigators say the child, Korbyn Antworth, sustained multiple injuries while Moore was babysitting him.

Among those injuries were 11 fractures to the child's ribs as well as brain hemorrhaging. Moore would later tell police that he accidentally dropped baby Korbyn causing the damage.

Yet investigators say their evidence showed the child was possibly shaken and deprived of oxygen for some time. The court will now have to consider whether to grant Moore bail.

"The court will determine whether or not there is probable cause upon which the defendant can be charged with the offense," said assistant Maine attorney general Leane Zainia, " that there is sufficient evidence in which to charge him with the most serious formal capital offense...murder."

Attorneys for Moore declined any comment on the case on Tuesday. His bail hearing will be scheduled for a later date.

For now he will continue to be held at the Penobscot County jail.
