BANGOR, Maine — Bangor police arrested a man Monday night after he allegedly threatened his roommate with a knife.
Police were called to a residence on Essex Street in Bangor shortly before midnight after the victim called to report the incident, according to a press release from the Bangor Police Department.
When officers arrived they separated John Cardoza, 60, and the victim and interviewed them both. Police discovered they had been arguing about the victim having a guest come to visit, according to the release.
"After speaking with Cardoza and the victim, officers believed there was sufficient probable cause to believe the threatening with the knife had taken place, and Cardoza was placed under arrest and transported to jail," the release states.
Cardoza is being held on a probation hold, as well as a class C felony charge of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.
No further details were available Tuesday afternoon.
