Auto shop fire in turner destroys 2 buildings and at least 15 vehicles

TURNER, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - - The Auburn Fire Department said they are responding to a structure fire at Hanson Auto in Auburn on Friday.

Fire Chief Jeoff Low said two buildings destroyed and at least 15 vehicles damaged in the fire at Hanson Auto.

NEWS CENTER viewer Troy True shared a video with us of the fire at Hanson Auto, on Auburn Road.

The Auburn Police Department confirmed that Route 4 northbound is currently closed to vehicle traffic due to the structure fire.

Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office released this statement Friday:

"Due to a large structure fire in the area of 68 Auburn Road in Turner, Maine, the public is requested to avoid the Rt. 4 corridor from Townsend Brook Road in Auburn to Wood Street in Turner.
No traffic can pass due to a large amount of fire apparatus and scene safety concerns."
