WINDSOR, Maine — A woman from Augusta is facing several charges stemming from an alleged assault of a business owner Thursday evening in Windsor.
The Maine State Police Central Field Troop responded to a report of an "out-of-control" woman who reportedly assaulted a business owner and fled at about 6 p.m. Thursday at 142 Augusta Rockland Road in Windsor, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said in a news release.
Moss said the suspect fled the scene in what was discovered to be a stolen pickup truck.
State police posted a photograph of the woman taken by a witness on social media requesting assistance from the public, which led to one credible tip.
The woman was identified as 33-year-old Jenyfer Clark of Augusta, Moss said in the release.
Troopers continued their investigation into the morning hours Friday, when Clark's whereabouts were confirmed. She was apparently discovered around 3:40 a.m. hiding from troopers on Canaan Road in Pittsfield.
From there, Clark was taken into custody and transported to the Kennebec County Correctional Facility in Augusta, the release stated.
Clark was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, assault, and violating conditions of release. She also had an active probation revocation warrant, in addition to another warrant charging her with assault, disorderly conduct, and refusing to submit to arrest, Moss said.
Troopers said the male business owner involved in the assault was not injured.
The investigation remains ongoing, and more charges are likely to follow, state police said.
