WATERVILLE, Maine — A mother and her 9-year-old son are safe after being woken up by fire in the early morning hours on Monday.
The mother reportedly awoke to a glow along the wall in the bedroom she was sleeping in and then called 911, Waterville Battalion Chief John Gromek said Monday in a news release.
Gromek said the fire started in the attic space above the bedroom.
Fire crews from Waterville, Winslow, Fairfield, Oakland, and Skowhegan all responded to the single-family structure fire at 45 Drummond Ave. officials stated in a press release.
No one was injured and the cause is still under investigation according to the Waterville Fire Chief.
