One person sent to hospital after fall near Two Cent Bridge in Waterville

Local crews and LifeFlight responded to the scene Monday afternoon, Waterville Fire-Rescue said.

WATERVILLE, Maine — A female was brought to the hospital after falling over the railing near a bridge in Waterville Monday afternoon. 

Waterville Fire-Rescue told NEWS CENTER Maine first responders arrived near the area of Two Cent Bridge at the head of the falls along the Kennebec River around 3:45 p.m. 

A female fell over a walkway railing near the bridge and onto the rocks, sustaining multiple injuries, Waterville Fire-Rescue said. Rescue crews were able to pull her to safety using ropes. 

LifeFlight was called and brought the female to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, according to Waterville Fire-Rescue. LifeFlight left the scene around 5 p.m.

The Waterville Police Department and Kennebec County Emergency Management Agency also responded. 

No other information was available as of 6:30 p.m.
