Litchfield woman facing felony sex trafficking charge

AUGUSTA, Maine (Kennebec Journal) -- A Litchfield woman is facing a felony charge of aggravated sex trafficking for allegedly coercing a 17-year-old girl into prostitution, reports the Kennebec Journal, NEWS CENTER's media partner.

Gretchen L. Patrick, 51, entered a plea of not guilty Wednesday in Augusta District Court Wednesday to a misdemeanor charge alleging she promoted prostitution between July 31, 2012, and April 10, 2014, in Augusta. The Kennebec County Superior Court will handle the new felony charge of aggravated sex trafficking. A conviction on the felony charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
