CONWAY, N.H. — The attorney for Abby Hernandez said she did not know the man who kidnapped her and that she was "brutalized."
Nathaniel Kibby of Gorham, New Hampshire has been charged with Abby's kidnapping, but prosecutors and police haven't released many details have been revealed about the kidnapping.
Abby returned to her home in Conway, New Hampshire in July after missing for about nine months.
In a statement, Attorney Michael Coyne said, "Abby needs and wants some time and space to physically and emotionally heal."
The statement goes on to say, "Abby was violently abducted by a stranger. For many months, she suffered numerous acts of unspeakable violence. Through her faith, fortitude and resilience, she is alive today and home with her family."
Kibby's probable cause hearing that was scheduled for Tuesday, but has been postponed at least 30 days. No date has been set.
