MARS HILL, Maine — A motorcyclist from Easton died Thursday after a collision with a car in Mars Hill.
It happened shortly after 1 p.m. on West Ridge Road, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said in a release Friday.
The motorcyclist, 50-year-old Lance Kierstead, was taken to Northern Lights AR Gould Hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to Moss.
The driver of the car, 41-year-old Jamie Avery of Easton, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, the release stated.
Moss said an initial investigation indicated that Kierstead was traveling south on a 2006 Harley Davidson and Avery was traveling north in a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu when the two vehicles met at a curve in the road and collided.
The crash remains under investigation.
