BLAINE, Maine — A man from Presque Isle died Wednesday after being hit by a pickup truck while walking on Route 1 in Blaine.
It happened around 9:45 p.m., according to a release from Maine State Police.
Wayne Field, 41, of Blaine was traveling north on Route 1 in his Chevy 2500 pickup truck when he struck Joshua Morse, 43, who was "walking in the travel way," police said in the release.
Field slammed on his brakes but was unable to avoid Morse, who suffered significant injuries and died at the scene, according to officials.
Field was not injured, the release stated.
Central Aroostook Ambulance Service and the Mars Hill Fire Department also responded to the scene, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
