LEBANON, Maine — Route 202 was shut down for several hours in the Lebanon area Saturday night after a 32-year-old man from Acton died in a two-vehicle crash.

At approximately 7 p.m., York County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a crash located in the area of Carl Broggi Highway and Creamery Hill Road in Lebanon, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

An initial investigation revealed a 2016 Dodge Charger driven by 34-year-old Joshua Griffin of Sanford was heading east on Route 202 when Griffin reportedly lost control of the vehicle, crossing into the oncoming lane. The sheriff's office said Griffin's vehicle struck a 2003 Honda Civic driven by 32-year-old Henry Berthiaume of Acton.

Berthiaume was alone in his vehicle and died in the crash, according to the sheriff's office. Griffin and one of two passengers in his vehicle were brought to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. Griffin's second passenger was reportedly treated and released at the scene.

Sanford police and the Maine Department of Transportation assisted at the scene, the sheriff's office said. The crash is being reconstructed by a crash deconstructionist with the York Police Department.
