PORTLAND, Maine — Many of the members of Toby McAllister and The Sierra Sounds have been in the 207 studio before, but never all at once. The band is a blend of musicians who have played together and in other bands before coming together to form their current configuration.
Toby McAllister, Nate Spencer, and Ben Briggs have played together for years, dating back to their days in Sparks The Rescue. Xander Nelson, who also teaches at the Maine Academy of Modern Music, and Jake Van Paepeghem joined the other three in the past couple of years to form Toby McAllister and The Sierra Sounds.
They stopped by to tell us about their upcoming show, Friday, Dec. 8 at Sun Tiki Studios in Portland, as well as to perform their cover of Dick Curless’ "A Tombstone Every Mile."
