CUMBERLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Maine is home to more than a hundred breweries; each with its own flavors and history.
There's one, however, that hasn't even opened yet and is already garnering some serious attention; that's because Stars & Stripes Brewing is built by a veteran for veterans.
"We want to make great beer," said Brad Nadeau, the founder. "We want to have a great atmosphere for people to hang out with family and friends and meet some new friends and get veterans together to talk about their service, and help with in any way, that they can join together, heal in any way and just have a better day."
It's a big task, because Brad and his wife Nancy haven't even found a location yet.
They have a Kickstarter campaign they're hoping will help them raise $20,000 to put toward a loan that will help them open their doors.
For now, Brad brews seven different types of beer in his garage; offering tastes to friends and family.
"I’ve been been getting calls daily of people who want to try our beer, want to buy beer we can’t sell yet. They want to buy T-shirts and support us."
