He's now walking again and working to help other wounded veterans. SSG Mills, now retired, is working at getting a camp in Maine so that those veterans can just get out and have a regular summer experience at camp.
In his new book, "Tough As They Come," Mills details some of the realities of life for soldiers in Afghanistan - like how rare showers were. He also talks extensively about his recovery.
