The Portland Symphony Orchestra recently made their decision on who would be their next music director. Eckart Preu was the last man standing. He was chosen out of 240 international candidates. He spoke with us about music and the incredible feeling of being the final choice as music director. From humble roots in Communist East Germany, he's found a home at the helm of Portland Symphony.
