PORTLAND, Maine — Fresh off performing the halftime show at this year's Super Bowl, Usher is out with new music. It's just one of the new releases Chris Brown and Callie Lirakis from Bull Moose shared with us. Here's their list of new releases hitting shelves this month:
Usher - "Coming Home" (CD)
R&B superstar Usher released his latest album last Friday, just in time for his halftime appearance at the Super Bowl.
Steeleye Span - "Live at the Bottom Line, 1974" (CD)
Steeleye Span was one of the most popular British folk rock groups of the 1960s and 1970s. This concert has never been heard before and is from the period after they added a full-time drummer and started to have hits.
"The Conan Chronicles: Conan the Barbarian & Conan the Destroyer" (4K)
Here we have newly restored versions of both of Arnold Schwarzenegger's Conan films. Arrow Films has packed the set with new interviews and special features, two posters, postcards, and a new booklet.
J. Mascis - "What Do We Do Now" (CD, LP, cassette)
People who enjoyed Dinosaur Jr. in the 80s and 90s but want something more refined will enjoy this album. The rhythm guitars usually are acoustic now, but there still are carefully constructed layers of electric guitars. J's vocals are as melancholic as ever. The biggest difference I hear between this and early Dino is that J no longer gives the impression that he doesn't care about what he is doing. I think he always did; it was just that Gen X slacker thing coming through.
