PORTLAND, Maine — When there’s a cloth bag moving in unsettling ways on the floor of the 207 studio, it’s a sure sign a snake is writhing inside. That happens only when Mr. Drew is in the house.
Mr. Drew takes in exotic animals at his education center in Lewiston, where he rehabilitates them when possible, and simply cares for them when not. He also travels around the state, teaching kids and adults about the importance of knowing what you’re in for if you’re interested in acquiring an exotic animal.
On his latest visit with us, Drew brought a lizard, a four-foot-long snake that looked fabulous draped around Samantha’s arms, and a frog that might want to go on a diet and get a personal fitness trainer. Watch our interview to learn more.
