PORTLAND, Maine — With its annual Maine vacation guide, Down East magazine is looking ahead to summer and offering a challenge to readers. The challenge comes in the form of the "Great Maine Scavenger Hunt."
What, you ask, is the Great Maine Scavenger Hunt? It’s 32 activities in four categories that range from arts and culture to the outdoors to food and drink to history and landmarks. The idea is to get people engaged in trips and projects “that will keep you bouncing around the state in pursuit of the freshest clams, the tiniest bookstore, the largest salt marsh, and a whole lot more.”
