PORTLAND, Maine — Theresa Caputo still remembers the first time she found the courage to approach someone with her "gift."
"I kept hearing the ones on the left," Caputo recalled.
Only, the voice didn't come from someone in the department store she was in, Caputo said the message came from someone on the "other side." The message was accompanied by what she said felt like heart attack-like symptoms. Shortly after, she said she walked by a woman trying to decide between two different curtain patterns.
Theresa said she learned the woman's husband had recently suffered from a heart attack and died suddenly. She was trying to pick curtains he would like.
"I think he wants you to pick the ones on the left," Caputo recalled telling the woman.
For more than a decade, Caputo's life has been featured on two different reality shows, "The Long Island Medium" on TLC and "Raising Spirits" on Lifetime. Next month, she's bringing her live show to Merrill Auditorium. Caputo said she was asked to come back after her show in May sold out.
