The Emerge Film Festival returns to Lewiston/Auburn for its 3rd and biggest screening yet.
Organizers considered 2,300+ submissions, an increase of more than 1800% over the last year.
The festival also has a strong local component, with a number of screenings set aside for local filmmakers, the use of local universities as judges and by bringing filmmakers to high schools in Maine.
Another neat thing the festival is doing: volunteers will be paired with each visiting filmmaker to give the visitor a native's view of Maine.
