BATH, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The largest skate park in Maine is still growing and changing.
The Bath Youth Meetinghouse and Skate park recently added on to it's indoor facility giving the kids who go there even more options. A place that organizers are hoping keeps them out of trouble.
The Park first opened at the old Bath Armory three years ago. It brings around 50 to 80 kids a night. 17-year-old Keegan Dendry is one of them, spending almost every day of the week at The Park to practice his skateboarding.
"It's a place for kids to go whether they're just board or if they need someplace to go,"
Organizers who are responsible for The Park's existence are hoping kids in the Bath area choose skate boarding, roller blading and riding skooters over getting into trouble.
"It's a safe place, it has some mentoring, people here that supervise the environment that's safe," said Director of Park Recreation for the City of Bath, Steve Balboni.
The Park is open Tuesday through Thursday from 2 to 7pm and on Fridays and Saturdays until 9pm.
