This new show at the Public Theatre will transport you back to 1973

The cast of "Incident at Our Lady of Perpetual Help" will perform the show for the first time in front of an audience Friday night in Lewiston.

LEWISTON, Maine — If you've been looking for an excuse to get out of the house and enjoy a laugh or two, the cast of "Incident at Our Lady of Perpetual Help" at the Public Theatre in Lewiston has you covered.

"Whether you grew up Catholic or lived through the 1970s, this nostalgic new comedy is for you! It’s 1973 and the O’Shea family faces a crisis of biblical proportions when their 19-year-old daughter tells her younger sister about 'the birds and the bees' and is overheard by the parish priest! Holy hell and hilarity breaks loose as the O’Sheas band together and proves that nothing is more sacred than family," the Public Theatre says on its website.
