Dr. Allyson Coffin stopped by the 207 studio to share tips about preventing aches and pains when organizing your home.

PORTLAND, Maine — Whether you're cleaning out the attic or finally organizing the infamous "junk drawer," Dr. Allyson Coffin is sharing simple tips to protect yourself in the process.

Dr. Coffin is our local chiropractor and wellness expert.

"When something is organized it feels better in our brains and bodies," Dr. Coffin said. "It also increases your serotonin hormone because it is visually appealing to our eye."

Coffin suggests:

  1. Getting a stool for taller projects
  2. Using a "reacher" tool to avoid straining
  3. Drinking water
