PORTLAND, Maine — Maine author, Kalee Gwarjanski is hoping to inspire the next generation of farmers with her new children's picture book: "Miss MacDonald Has A Farm."
The story follows a young woman on her farm as she tends to the different crops in her gardens.
This is the first book Gwarjanski has had published.
"I wanted to tell the story of why vegetables are important [and] what a farm looks like today," Gwarjanski said. "When you go to a farm you see more female farmers, more vegetables than livestock and, I wanted to give that experience to the reader."
Gwarjanski said her own children enjoy picking up their vegetables from the local farm and have shared many "Ee Ii, Ee Ii, grows" together.
