PORTLAND, Maine — For ten years now, Down East Magazine has presented a gallery of beautiful images in its annual reader photo contest. More than 500 entries came in this year, and the winners in three categories—landscape, wildlife, lifestyle—are featured in the December issue.
“We’ve never encountered a shortage of deserving images, which makes sense,” the article noted. “Maine knows how to mug for the cameras, from its lilting salt marshes and sheer cliffs to its snowstorms and swooping egrets.”
Editor in chief Will Grunewald joined 207 to offer a look at some of the winning pictures and to talk about other articles in this issue. Watch our conversation to learn more.
