It’s a whole new act for singer John Davidson

A lot has changed, but one thing hasn’t—he loves to perform.

NEW HAMPSHIRE, USA — From an early age, John Davidson liked to entertain people. It wasn’t always easy for him to step up, though, because he was shy.

“I wanted to be like my dad because he was a preacher,” Davidson says. “Trouble is, I didn’t have any religion. But I wanted to get up and speak in front of people. I loved getting up in the pulpit. But I didn’t want to go visit people in hospitals and do funerals.” So he ended up doing “Hollywood Squares” and “The $100,000 Pyramid” and “The Ed Sullivan Show” and “That’s Incredible” and “The Tonight Show” and countless other TV shows, not to mention movies and concerts and—well, you get the picture. From the 1960's to the 1990's, Davidson was one of the better-known entertainers in the U.S.

Where is now? And what’s he up to? The answers to both questions may surprise you. Watch our story, though, and one thing is clear: John Davidson still loves to entertain.
