PORTLAND, Maine — The folks from Bull Moose stopped by the 207 studio to share a few of their favorite things this holiday season.
Here's the list from Bull Moose's Chris Brown and Callie Lirakis:
Maine Books
Ford S. Reiche – A Long, Long Time Ago: Major Rock and Roll Concerts in Southern Maine 1955-1977. Paperback.
207 viewers already are familiar with this book. It’s an amazing work of music scholarship. Any Mainer interested in music from this period will love it. It really is that good.
Erin French -- Big Heart Little Stove
She has an amazing story and also recently had a sold-out event at the State Theatre. This is a great "Maine" gift and a great cookbook at the same time.
Blu-rays and 4K UHD
Callie recommends Criterion Collection’s recent releases of Del Toro's Pinocchio and La Ceremonie. Both have excellent special features and artwork.
Chris recommends Mandalorian Seasons 1 & 2, Wandavision, and Loki because they finally have nice physical releases in collectible Steelbook packages. They look and sound a million times better than the streams. Disney originally said these would be for streaming only, so the Star Wars and Marvel fans in your life, may not even know they exist.
Video Games
Callie recommends Nintendo Switch games like Super Mario Wonder and Pikmin 4. They make great gifts. It's always nice to get into a comforting and fun video game after the rush and hecticness of the Holidays and being with family.
Callie also recommends Dungeons and Dragons. D&D is a fantastic way to spend time with friends and family. It takes a bit to get going, but you can have months or years of enjoyment when you find a good group. It’s great for people in middle school or older.
