The 207 Interview: Republican congressional candidate Austin Theriault

A first-term state legislator, he now hopes to win a seat in Congress.

PORTLAND, Maine — Two candidates are vying for the Republican nomination for the U.S. House of Representatives in Maine's second district: Austin Theriault and Mike Soboleski. The primary election on June 11 will decide which of them will be the GOP nominee for that seat.

Here's a quick look at Theriault.

Residence: Fort Kent

Political experience: Elected to the Maine House of Representatives in 2022.

Work experience: Former NASCAR driver who later trained and managed other drivers.
