ALFRED (NEWSCENTERMaine)-- Two vehicles and two buildings were involved in a bad accident on Route 202 in Alfred around 7pm Tuesday evening.
State police say a woman driving a sedan crashed into a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Waterboro Road and Saco Road.
The sedan struck a florist shop and a tractor-trailer truck nearly struck an antique store.
Authorities say the woman driving the sedan has been taken to Maine Medical Center. No word yet on her condition.
The truck driver was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police investigating the crash say even *they had to be careful driving in the slippery conditions.
Michael Lane with the Maine State Police said, "Yeah, its possible the icy roads caused this, I know the temperature dropped significantly while we were responding to this. A couple of other troopers that responded to this they almost ahhhh-- they mentioned they were having some difficulty driving as well so take it slow and we got here when we got here."
