Man, 18, seriously injured in motorized bike vs. vehicle crash in Lyman

The 18-year-old was taken by LifeFlight to a hospital with injuries considered "critical" but not life-threatening, fire officials said.

LYMAN, Maine — One person was injured after being hit by a vehicle while operating a motorized bike in Lyman on Thursday.

The Waterboro Fire Department told NEWS CENTER Maine an 18-year-old man operating a motorized bike was hit by another vehicle on South Waterboro Road.

The 18-year-old was taken by LifeFlight to a hospital with injuries considered "critical" but not life-threatening, the fire department said.

LifeFlight landed at Massabesic High School to transport the patient, but the high school itself has no other connection to the crash, fire officials said.

No further details were released.
