BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Five people are in jail after a year-long drug trafficking investigation in Bangor.
Four men and one woman were arraigned in federal court Friday after being arrested Thursday night. They're accused of multiple counts of distributing different drugs including cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin.
Agencies involved in the investigation include the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, U.S. DEA and Bangor Police. If convicted, each person arrested faces punishment of up to 20 years in prison or a million dollar fine or both.
- Mario Lee, 40, was arrested on a federal criminal complaint charging him with four counts of distribution of heroin.
- Kliton Xhemali, 34, was arrested on a federal criminal complaint charging him with two counts of distribution of cocaine.
- Antonio Gordon, 32, was arrested on a federal criminal complaint charging him with three counts of distribution of cocaine base ("crack").
- Syrian Baldwin, 29, was arrested on a federal criminal complaint charging him with two counts of distribution of cocaine base ("crack").
- Tawana Greene, 23, was arrested on a federal criminal complaint charging her with two counts of distribution of cocaine base ("crack").
The federal agent in charge of this investigation sent a written statement to media Friday afternoon.
"These arrests demonstrate the strength and continued commitment of our federal, state and local law enforcement partners to work together to address a continuing drug problem in the Bangor area," said U.S. DEA agent, Michael J. Ferguson.
