LINCOLN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --

Anthony Lord has a criminal record stretching back more than a decade. This includes gross sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and domestic violence.

Lord is still listed on Maine's sex offender registry list. He was convicted of having unlawful sexual contact with someone under 14 years old in 2004.

Lord was sentenced to five years in jail but only served 18 months of his sentence. The remainder was suspended.

Most recently -- Lord was convicted for domestic violence assault and driving to endanger. According to Penobscot County District Attorney Chris Almy, Lord grabbed his childrens' mother by the neck during a fight.

Lord pleaded guilty to the charges and spent 45 days in jail. He is still on probation.

The DA's office also says Lord recently tried to get his probation amended to avoid participation in the Batter's Intervention Program.

It denied his request because they were concerned for the victim's safety.

The office also contacted that victim Friday and made sure she is okay.

Lord is also the father of a six month-old Millinocket baby who died in May of this year Police would not say if there was any connection between that case and what happened today.

The baby's mother was living with another man at that time and no charges have been filed in the case yet.

A protective order filed by the baby's mother against Lord for her and her child was dismissed days after the child died at Eastern Maine Medical Center.

State Police Lieutenant Sean Hashey says the investigation into the baby's death is still ongoing.
