MAINE, USA — Editor’s note: You've probably heard the term ‘flattening the curve’ as a way to stem the tide of coronavirus cases. The above video explains what that means.
Seven of Maine's community colleges are offering free online college courses for the graduating high school class of 2020.
Recent high school grads can sign up for summer sessions courses now with different start day options.
To sign up, students should send an email to a college navigator. The navigator will help with picking out courses, making sure credits count toward a degree or transfer to another school, walk students through the basics of taking an online class, and answer any questions.
A few courses available through Maine's Community College System this summer are:
- Digital Photography
- Introduction to Business
- Introduction to Psychology
- US History 1877 to Present
- Public Speaking
- Creative Writing
- Intro to Environmental Science
- Intro to Algebra
- Statistics
- Calculus 1
- Marine Biology
