YORK, Maine — A Windham man has been charged with aggravated assault for allegedly stabbing someone repeatedly in York’s Short Sands Park parking lot Thursday afternoon.
According to York Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call about the incident around 2:20 p.m. along with York Beach Rescue and York Ambulance.
Police said Daniel Orban of Windham left the scene in his vehicle before they arrived. He was located shortly after on nearby Shore Road, where he was taken into custody by officers without incident.
Orban will remain at York County Jail until he appears in court.
The victim of the assault had multiple stab wounds, police said, and was brought to the hospital. They are expected to survive.
Police said this was an unprovoked attack and there is no longer any danger to the public.
