PORTLAND, Maine — A man from Windham has been arrested in connection with a string of burglaries in the Portland area over the last several weeks.
Joseph Call, 37, of Windham has been arrested after being linked to nine burglaries throughout Portland, South Portland, and Westbrook, according to news releases from the Portland and South Portland Police Departments.
Businesses reportedly burglarized in Portland include The Blue Lobster on Dec. 17, Coffee by Design and Rosemont Market and Bakery on Dec. 30, LFK on Dec. 31, Rusty Lantern Market on Jan. 13, and Pat's Meat Market on Jan. 14, Portland police said.
South Portland police noted two burglaries, one at Taco Trio on Christmas and another at Buena Filipino Food Market on Jan. 2.
Call was found at his home in Windham and was arrested by South Portland Police Det. Jeff Levesque and members of the Windham Police Department, according to South Portland police.
Call reportedly faces multiple charges of burglary and theft in connection with the incidents. He is currently being held on $3,500 cash bail at the Cumberland County Jail.
"Call is believed to be involved in several more burglaries in other surrounding towns; charges are expected in those cases soon," South Portland police said. "The investigation is ongoing, and charges are anticipated for multiple co-conspirators."
An extensive joint investigation included detectives from Portland, Westbrook, and South Portland Police Departments, police said.
