WILTON, Maine — The Wilton Police Department responded to reports Monday evening of an assault involving multiple juveniles at Kineowatha Park on High Street in Wilton.
Around 6 p.m., officers were en route to the scene when they learned the suspects had left on foot, according to a Tuesday press release from the Wilton Police Department.
Officers were able to locate three of the juveniles involved, who were found running through backyards and wooded areas, trying to avoid police, the release stated. After a brief search, police located and interviewed the juveniles at a residence in Wilton Mobile Park.
Upon further investigation, officers arrested a 15-year-old juvenile for aggravated assault, a Class B felony. That juvenile was then transported to and is being held at Long Creek Youth Development Center, police said.
"Two of the juveniles involved, one being the juvenile taken into custody, were on juvenile probation for prior criminal conduct at the time of the incident," the release stated.
The Wilton Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call them at 207-645-3876, or the Franklin County Regional Communications Center at 207-778-6140.
