Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office shuts down two more illegal pot operations

Two suspected illicit marijuana growing operations busted in Milo and Brownville.

PISCATAQUIS COUNTY, Maine — The Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office executed two search warrants on suspected illegal marijuana growing operations on Monday.

Deputies confiscated 2,200 marijuana plants in the town of Milo and another 660 plants in Brownville, according to a Tuesday Facebook post by the sheriff's office.

The sheriff's office said no arrests have been made at this time, but said these cases remain under investigation.

"The sheriff's office has now executed 10 search warrants on illicit marijuana grows since Feb. 9 and has confiscated approximately 12,300 plants and 216 pounds of processed marijuana," the post stated.

The sheriff's office was assisted by the Milo Police Department, Office of Cannabis Policy, Homeland Security, and the DEA.
