SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — A Portland man is facing a host of charges after police said he crashed into two vehicles Thursday night while driving intoxicated in South Portland then ran off.
Taylor Graffam, 30, was tracked down and arrested with the help of Portland police dogs, according to South Portland police.
Graffam was driving a pickup truck in the area of the 500-block of Main Street in South Portland around 9:30 p.m. when he crashed into two vehicles, police said.
"Officers found three vehicles with heavy damage and major damage to light poles, a bus stop shelter, and other property fixtures," South Portland police said in a news release. "Debris from the crash spread along Main Street for an entire block."
A passenger in one of the vehicles, a woman, was trapped in the wreckage and was freed by firefighters, police said. She was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Graffam was also hospitalized with minor injuries, police said. He was charged with operating under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless conduct, and aggravated criminal mischief.
Police said the crash caused "thousands" of dollars in property damage.
