Portland woman faces multiple charges after allegedly stabbing person in vehicle

Police responded to the Kennebec Street area Saturday afternoon.

PORTLAND, Maine — A Portland woman faces multiple charges after allegedly stabbing a person in a car multiple times on Saturday. 

Portland police responded to 195 Kennebec St. just after 2 p.m., according to a news release from the Portland Police Department. A Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurant is located at that address. 

Police said witnesses reported a suspect appeared to stab a person in a car multiple times. The suspect reportedly fled and was apprehended in Westbrook with assistance from local police. 

Police said the person who was allegedly stabbed was brought to Maine Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Marwa Mohammed, 21, of Portland was brought in for questioning and now faces an aggravated assault charge and a charge for possession of 2.5 grams of cocaine base, police said.
