Portland police continue investigation into 1991 unsolved homicide

PORTLAND, Maine — Police in Portland are continuing to investigate an unsolved 1991 homicide.

On Feb. 15, 1991, police conducted a well-being check on 62-year-old Henry Champagne at 633 Congress Street Apartment 10, the Portland Police Department said Friday in a social media post.

When officers arrived at the apartment, they found Champagne deceased. Police said he was last seen alive just two days before.

His cause of death has not been released, according to the post.

Police ask anyone who may have information to help solve this case to call Det. Napijalo at 207-874-8906 or Det. Shinay at 207-874-8595. You can also call 207-874-8584 to leave an anonymous message on the department’s crime tip line or text the keyword “PPDME” and a message to 847411 (TIP411).

No additional information was released.
