PORTLAND, Maine — A man is facing charges after he allegedly threatened someone with a gun Sunday night in Portland.
Portland police responded to a report of a man threatening someone with a gun in the area of Forest Avenue and Bedford Street around 8:32 p.m., according to a social media post made by the department.
Based on a description, officers tracked down 28-year-old Matthew Litka of Portland within minutes and arrested him on Fessenden Street. He had a firearm at the time, the post stated.
Litka was charged with criminal threatening and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon after he admitted to firing the gun into the ground at one point, police said. No injuries were reported.
Litka was brought to Cumberland County Jail.
