PORTLAND, Maine — A man from Scarborough is facing drug and gun charges after police said they responded to a gas station and found him passed out in the driver's seat of a running vehicle with a gun in his lap.
In a press release Monday, Portland police said James Selberg Stross, 33, has been charged with the following:
- Illegal possession of firearm
- Aggravated trafficking of scheduled drug
- Unlawful possession of fentanyl powder
- Two counts of unlawful possession of scheduled drug
- Operating while license suspended or revoked
Officers responded to the Rusty Lantern at 2282 Congress Street shortly before 8:15 p.m. Saturday. After finding Stross passed out in the driver's seat, they removed the gun before waking him up and starting an investigation, according to the release.
During the investigation, police said they found:
- 31.54 grams of methamphetamine
- 5.04 grams of black tar heroin
- 4.43 grams of fentanyl
- 3.13 grams of cocaine
- Various other drugs
- Paraphernalia
- $954 in cash
Stross was taken to the Cumberland County Jail.
