Police still seeking answers in 1977 Masardis homicide

MASARDIS, Maine — State police are continuing to investigate an unsolved 1977 homicide that happened in The County.

On the morning of March 18, 1977, Lila Drew was discovered on the floor of her home on Route 11 in Masardis, Maine State Police said in a social media post.

"Lila died as a result of inflicted trauma, which is believed to have occurred during the previous night and her case was determined to be a homicide," the post stated.

According to state police, Drew was a retired teacher with the Ashland school system. She lived alone at the time of her death.

Police ask anyone who may have information about this case to contact the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit - North at 207-973-3750 or 1-800-432-7381.
