Man accused of assaulting two UMaine students in custody

ORONO, Maine — A man accused of assaulting two University of Maine students last weekend has been taken into custody. 

An incident occurred in Orono on Sunday, Oct. 20 that involved two university students who were reportedly assaulted by Noah Lachapelle-Quinn, UMaine police said Friday in a news release. Police did not share his age. 

Police said Lachapelle-Quinn is not an Orono resident or university student but is known to frequent student gatherings in town.

Lachapelle-Quinn reportedly has a history of assaulting others, and an arrest warrant was issued for aggravated assault, according to police.

UMaine canceled the alert Saturday morning, stating Lachapelle-Quinn had been taken into custody.

UMaine police worked closely with the Orono Police Department and other local law enforcement on this case.
