Search underway for man accused of assaulting two UMaine students

ORONO, Maine — Law enforcement in Orono are searching for a man accused of assaulting two University of Maine students this past weekend.

An incident occurred in Orono on Sunday, Oct. 20 that involved two university students who were reportedly assaulted by Noah Lachapelle-Quinn, UMaine police said Friday in a news release. Police did not share his age. 

Police said Lachapelle-Quinn is not an Orono resident or university student but is known to frequent student gatherings in town.

Lachapelle-Quinn reportedly has a history of assaulting others, and at this time an arrest warrant has been issued for aggravated assault, according to police.

Police describe him as a 5-foot-8 white male who weighs 225 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

UMaine police are working closely with the Orono Police Department and other local law enforcement on this case.

Police ask anyone who encounters Lachapelle-Quinn to please use caution and call 911 immediately.
