PORTLAND, Maine — Portland police have charged a 39-year-old Portland man with aggravated assault in connection with a stabbing Monday afternoon near Deering Oaks.
Robert Walters was arrested shortly after the incident, which took place near the intersection of High Street and Forest Avenue, Portland Police Department Spokesman David Singer said.
The alleged victim, a 44-year-old man, suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound to the back and was taken to Maine Medical Center.
Singer said the alleged attack was not random and apparently resulted from a dispute between the two men.
Walters was taken to York County Jail. No court date was available Tuesday.
