WESTBROOK, Maine — Police closed a road Wednesday evening in Westbrook while they were processing the scene of an apparent shooting.
Westbrook police responded around 8 p.m. to a report of a shooting in the area of 290 Cumberland St., the police department said in a Facebook post.
When officers arrived and secured the scene, they discovered evidence that a shooting occurred, the post stated.
Initial investigation led police to believe it was an isolated incident and that there is no risk to the public, according to the post.
Police said no injuries were reported.
As of 10:30 p.m., Cumberland Street was closed to allow police to process the scene. Police said they anticipate the road to reopen before the morning commute.
The investigation remains ongoing.
More information will be released as the investigation progresses, police said.
