JAY, Maine — The Jay Police Department is actively investigating reports of shots fired near Church Street on Thursday morning.
Jay Police Chief Richard Caton told NEWS CENTER Maine the shots were fired near Horton Street and Church Street.
Church Street was closed from about 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday but is now open, Caton said.
Caton added there were no injuries and he does not believe there is a threat to the public at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
