OLD TOWN, Maine — An Old Town man is facing charges after a standoff with police Sunday afternoon.
Shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 10, Old Town police responded to a report of a "man in crisis with a firearm" at a home on Martha's Way, the police department said in a news release Monday.
"Shortly after responding to the scene, officers started negotiations on the phone with the subject, meanwhile, other officers were coordinating the evacuation of nearby residents," the release stated.
Police said after an extended period, the man, identified as 20-year-old Rowan Lynch, was safely taken into custody.
Lynch was charged with Class B aggravated reckless conduct and Class D domestic violence criminal threatening. He remains at the Penobscot County Jail without bail pending further arraignment, according to the release.
Police said the firearm involved in this incident has been recovered.
